Ross Tierney is a British entrepreneur with a background in IT, design, engineering and manufacturing with companies in both the UK and the US. In 2006, Ross founded DIRECT Launcher, to promote solutions to NASA that resulted in restructuring the agency’s human spaceflight program in 2011. For 6 years he was responsible for coordinating the general architecture, political, economic and engineering effort for the 100-strong nation-wide engineering team’s development of the “Jupiter” launch vehicle, the forerunner to NASA’s current Space Launch System (SLS). Ross worked closely with the White House, Senators, House Representatives, State Governors and NASA Centers around the country to guarantee political support at all levels, which led the project to its successful conclusion in 2011. In 2014 Ross created Horizon Space Technologies Ltd, an engineering firm based in Westcott, England, that specializes in developing innovative new systems for the Aerospace and Formula-1 industries.
