Jim Plaxco

Jim is a digital artist, photographer and owner of Artsnova. With a BS in Economics and a MS in Computer Science, Mr. Plaxco spent much of his career as an IT professional working for several Fortune 100 companies.

Mr. Plaxco has been a space activist since the late-80’s. He currently serves as President of the Chicago Society for Space Studies and as a NASA JPL Solar System Ambassador. His related previous experiences include serving as President, Northern Illinois Space Advocacy; Vice President, National Space Society;  Vice President, Planetary Studies Foundation; Program Director, PSF Henize Science Learning Center; Director, National Space Society Space Settlement Art Contest; Editor, PSF News; Editor, Spacewatch.

In addition to serving terms as a member of the Board of Directors for the National Space Society; Harper College Center for Meteorite and Planetary Studies; and the Planetary Studies Foundation, he has also served as a judge in several space art contests sponsored by NASA and the International Academy of Astronautics. Mr. Plaxco has been honored with the National Space Society Award of Excellence and the Planetary Studies Foundation Outstanding Service Award.
