(Privately Held; 51-200 employees; Market Research industry) 2001 – 2006 (5 years); Leadership role as advisory consultant, formulated as part of licensing agreement transfer of Star Trek license from Paramount Pictures, after previously growing organization to 50,000 members where he: Oversaw $1M+ publishing budget, launched Lord of The Rings fan club, using influence with Newline Cinema, administered ST and LOTR magazines with creative input, and supervised a staff of 15.  Dan was also the Founder, President, and Publisher, Fantastic Media, Inc. 1980 –2001 (21 years), where he created the original Star Wars and Star Trek fan headquarters, producing $20M revenue and growing base to 250,000+ subscribers. Organization, publishing, and merchandising operations were widely hailed as the international model for studio-approved promotional businesses.  With Fantastic Media, Dan negotiated exclusive contracts with Paramount Pictures and Lucasfilm Ltd., generated $10M annual revenue from licensed merchandise, produced additional $300K annually to move warehoused products, conceptualized and a produced single, $2M convention, developed key partnerships with nationwide chains (Hasbro, KFC, Taco Bell, etc.) to promote licensed products, oversaw all licensing, including licensee relations and product development, interviewed actors and used access to movie sets to write feature stories, and managed order fulfillment for 10,000+ product orders daily, with 24X7 operations.
